This Friday's question:

Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then “broke up” with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.

This one is easy for me! It is Anita Blake from The Anita Blake Series by Laurell K. Hamilton. I just recently finished book #14 but just cant bring myself to start #15 yet cause of the disappointment. She use to be a bad ass chick that would kick ass and shoot you before asking questions, independent and strong willed. I loved that about her and because of her attitude it made the story/series that much more interesting. However after finishing #14 I can see the change in her from book #1 to book #14. She now acts like a whore and will fuck before kicking ass and she also seems to lost her independent bad ass chick figure. She is now more dependent on others and I hate that.  I know I will eventually finish the series but for now I have to take a break. Im hoping that maybe further in to the series she find her REAL self again.

    I've heard that the series has gone down hill and is starting to resemble porn without plot. Such a disappointment.

    I'd really like to give the series a try, but at the same time.. I want to know in advance when it starts to go downhill and which book'd be the best to stop LOL

    I highly recommend the Elemental Assassin series. You really should read it. Start w/ book #1 though and work your way from book to book.

    Ditto! I stopped before finishing book 8. I pretend Anita stayed bad ass and faithful to Jean-Claude LOL
