Review~Death Dealer by Ashley Robertson

Book Title: Death Dealer
Series Title & Book #: A Death Angel Novella—Book 1
Author: Ashley Robertson
Published: July 1, 2013
Genre: Adult/Paranormal/Romance

Book Blurb:
Death: a word Mia Baron was all too familiar with since the murder of her parents when she was a young girl. Her drive for vengeance was the reason she became a Death Dealer—a soul guide through the spirit realm—signing her life away in her own blood. Pain forged a concrete wall around her heart and no one or nothing would ever penetrate it…until she got what she desired most—revenge.

Deacon Gage craves justice for his own horrific tragedy that forced him into the same life Mia chose, with the same promise of vengeance dangling just out of reach. His expert training makes him an Elite—one of the few Death Dealers to ever achieve such a status—and no one can shift his focus from the blood he seeks.

But when the two are partnered for yet another job and a heart-shattering case rips open Mia’s heart, Deacon realizes he’s the only one who can save her…at a price that might be too much to pay: opening his heart to her. The clock is ticking and her life hangs on the balance of whether he can truly let go or will hold onto his desire for blood.

My Review:

Mia is out for a vengeance. After her parents were brutally murdered(which she dint find out for awhile) she signed on to be a death dealer with the promise of collected the murderer soul and sending him to hell. I totally feel for Mia if this happened to me I would be out for major vengeance also. However I think this has allowed walls being put up that she needs to put down especially with Deacon.

Deacon clearly has a crush on Mia. They have been working together on some cases since she became a death dealer and he has teased her the entire time. Come on an obvious giveaway to him liking her even if he has been doing nothing but denying it. Deacon is an Elite Death Dealer and he signed on for pretty much the same reasons as Mia except for it wasn't his parents it was his younger sister.

Right from the start of this book I noticed these two had a connection, from their vengeance, to reasons they signed up to be Death Dealers in the beginning. They clearly are meant for each other. The good thing is sparks finally start to fly for these two and they finally realize they are meant to be when he helps her deliver her grandmother to heaven and is also there for her when she collects the soul of her parents killer.

There are many twists and turns in this story for it being a novella which i loved. I love when a novella can be written and still have you on the edge of your seat. However i feel it was also lacking some stuff. Yes we know why they became death dealers but that's pretty much it. We know that they eventually fall for each other and even though there was spark i feel it could have had more. Also maybe a romance scene or something. I felt that it was just lacking a bit and that why I gave this book a 4 star rating.

Other then that it was a good short read and I had it read in one night, like i said many twists and turns that make it suspenseful. If your looking for a short supernatural read then this is your book!
